The Five finger swipe (Fiona)
Put all of your five fingers on the screen and scrunch them together as though you were screwing up a piece of paper. This will close the screen you are working on. Adding Emoji Icons (Jackie).
General - Keyboard - Keyboards - Add a keyboard - Emoji. When students now use the keyboard, there's an added option of pictures etc for them to use using the icon (looks like a basketball) next to the numbers at the bottom of the keyboard. Locking an app (Rochelle)
Settings - General- Acessibility - Guided access. Turn this on.

Open the app you want the children to use and triple click the home key. Click start and the app will be locked open and the volume etc cannot be changed. If you want to lock the settings, levels or buttons on the open app, after triple click draw your finger around the buttons or parts of the app you do not want them to have access to (they will turn grey) then push start.
To unlock the app, again triple click the home key and enter the password. You can then close the app.
Please do not tell the children the password.
